Terms of service

These terms are between you (the person or organization using Seal) and [Operator legal name] (“we”), who run Seal at seal.nightroll.app. Questions: [contact email].

1. The service

Seal lets you prepare documents, send them for electronic signature and keep evidence of how they were signed. People you send documents to (“recipients”) don’t need an account; these terms apply to them only as far as they use the signing pages.

2. Beta

Seal is in beta. It works end to end, but it is new: features and limits may change, and it may be unavailable at times. We provide it as it is, without a service-level commitment. Paid plans are not on sale and we bill nothing during the beta.

3. Accounts and workspaces

  • Give accurate details and keep your sign-in methods (passkeys and email) secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account, your API keys and the agents you connect.
  • One Free workspace per person and per verified email domain.
  • Workspace owners and admins control members, API keys, connected agents and settings.

4. Plans and limits

The Free and Workspace plans have the limits shown on the pricing page and in the docs. A beta code gives a workspace the Workspace plan without charge until the code’s end date, if it has one; after that the workspace moves to Free. We will give at least [30] days’ notice before charging for anything, and we never charge without your agreement. There are no prepaid credits or balances.

5. Your content and your responsibilities

You keep all rights in the documents and data you put into Seal. You let us store, process and transmit them only to run Seal for you and your recipients. You are responsible for:

  • having the right to send the documents and to contact the recipients;
  • deciding whether an electronic signature suits each document and jurisdiction (some documents still need paper);
  • the instructions you give AI agents connected to your workspace, and the requests you approve.

6. Acceptable use

Don’t use Seal to send spam or unsolicited bulk messages; to impersonate anyone or collect signatures by deception; to phish or collect credentials; to send unlawful, infringing or malicious content; to hide instructions in documents to manipulate people or AI systems; or to probe, overload or get around Seal’s limits and security.

We review accounts for abuse and may flag them, hold their sending or suspend them. We tell you why, unless the law or someone’s safety prevents it. While sending is held, recipients who already received documents can still finish or decline them.

7. AI features

Agents act only through the tools and scopes you grant, and they cannot sign or approve anything. Sending through an agent needs a person’s passkey approval, unless an admin has given that agent a send allowance. The browser assistant uses your own key with the provider you choose, under that provider’s terms; Seal never receives the key. AI output can be wrong: the document text controls.

8. Evidence and retention

For each sent envelope we keep the documents, the audit trail and the sealed results in write-once storage for the retention term of the workspace’s plan when it was sent: 1 year on Free, 7 years on Workspace. During that term neither you nor we can delete them. After it, they are deleted automatically within 30 days. Drafts and templates are kept until you delete them.

9. Ending

You can stop using Seal at any time and ask us to delete your workspace; evidence still inside its retention term stays until the term ends. We may end or suspend access for a breach of these terms, with notice where we can give it.

10. Disclaimers and liability

During the beta Seal is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties, and our total liability for any claim is limited to [the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and USD 100]. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

11. Changes

We post changes to these terms here and tell workspace owners by email at least [30] days before a material change takes effect.

12. Governing law
